Having fears is an undeniable aspect of our lives. Anxiety is caused by work pressure, violence and movies on TV. Yoga can help you to overcome your fears by relieving inner tensions, calming the mind and generating positive thoughts. Yoga gives you the strength to overcome anxiety provoking situations. It makes you inwardly and outwardly strong. If you become enlightened, all of your fears will vanish.
In each and every moment, you get to choose whether you will act or react from the force of your fear or from the force of love.
When you act from fear, you are disconnected from your source and will help create more suffering for you and those around you. When you are connected to the force of love, you are connected to a supreme intelligence that will guide you to making the right choices for you and those around you. The truth is that we are all connected. We are ONE human family of brothers and sisters. When you make your choices from love, you will, by default, shift the consciousness.
The truth is that the Universe is a benevolent and friendly conscious entity ready to serve you; you only need to trust and act from that place. You are being called to go deep within yourself to find the Spirit as it is there that you will find peace and remember who you are.
Five Ways to Overcome Fear
One of the ten yogic bodies is called the Pranic body. A strong Pranic body will help keep fear at bay. Consciously breathing will strengthen your Pranic body. Slow down your breath. Inhale for 10 seconds. Suspend the breath for 10 seconds and then exhale for 10 seconds.
- Embrace the mystery
Ancient yogis said that only 20% is known to our conscious minds, while 80% is unknown to us. This 80% is what causes much of our fear. Embrace that 80% in every situation – trust that the Divine is guiding you in each and every moment. Imagine yourself as a great adventurer on planet Earth – a spiritual being here to have a grand adventure.
- Take short vacations from the news
This vacation includes from newspapers, television and the Internet. Take a vacation from the negative people in your life. Surround yourself with positive and uplifting people who are committed to their healing journeys. Read inspiring books and watch uplifting movies.
Count your blessings. Before you go to bed at night, make it a routine to list all of the things that you are grateful for that occurred that day.
- Stay calm and peaceful
Commit to be fully present in your life in each moment. Make time for others and keep your heart open. People need kindness and compassion during these challenging times.
